Our weekend in Christchurch
We went to Christchurch this weekend to see Bon Jovi! The concert was absolutely brilliant. We had front-row seats and were about 6m from the band!!
They put on a great show, with a cracking selection of songs from all of their albums.
We were exhausted after two and a half hours of jumping around and singing along, followed by a walk back to the motel at the other side of Christchurch!
Brilliant night! I wish I'd ignored the "no cameras" rule like everyone else did!
Here's some photos from Cathedral Square in the centre of Christchurch. Of course I climbed the cathedral tower :) The crowds are for the World Buskers Festival!

These amused me!

Inside the cathedral

We visited the aquarium and kiwi house, which is in Cathedral Square. Really interesting place and you get to see kiwis!

On Saturday we visited Orana Wildlife Park
We had a great day watching the various animal feedings. We also got to feed the giraffes.

the ponds in the park are full of super-clear springwater and Rainbow trout!

The tiger feeding was quite impressive

The highlight of the visit was the Lion Encounter.

Here they are all sleepy bin the morning heat.

They got a little more lively when we boarded the truck
Then quite a lot livelier once they smelled the meat!!

It was an amazing experience being no more than 50cm from the lions, with them growling and drooling! The growls are so deep you can feel them in your chest.
Here's a video for your enjoyment:
